
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Hosts Courtesy Visit with IMF Article IV Mission Team
Apia, Samoa – 28 July 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Honourable Mulipola Anarosa Ale Molio’o, hosted a courtesy visit with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Article IV Mission Team, led by Mission Chief, Mr. SeokHyun Yoon.
The courtesy meeting provided an opportunity for the IMF Mission Team to present its preliminary observations and recommendations from the 2026 Article IV Consultation – an annual surveillance exercise undertaken with all IMF member countries under Article IV of the IMF Articles of Agreement. The consultation assesses recent economic developments, macroeconomic policies and structural reforms, and provides recommendations to support sustainable and inclusive economic growth.
Honourable Mulipola acknowledged the longstanding partnership between Samoa and the IMF and reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to maintaining sound macroeconomic management. She also highlighted the Government’s continued focus on advancing reforms to improve productivity, strengthen institutions and encourage greater participation from communities and the private sector in Samoa’s economic development.
The 2026 Article IV Mission was conducted from 15 - 28 July 2026 and included consultations with Government ministries, public corporations, the Central Bank of Samoa, and representatives of the private sector
